Mosaic Project Throughout the month of March, community members worked hard to assemble a wall-mounted mosaic for the library. Local artist, Cindy Fisher developed a stunning design based on ideas generated in community brainstorming sessions. In response to questions such as, "when you hear the word library, what words and images come to mind" and "what do you love about the library", answers included: access to the wider world, solace, portal, pleasure in language and reading, pleasure of and comfort in revisiting “old friend” books and introducing them to grandchildren, common ground, interacting with others, it’s for everybody, world of ideas surrounded by nature, feels like a home, a safe place, small building, whole world inside, books that will take me anywhere, surrounded by friends, books that are friends, and FREE public library. |

Thanks to the help of more than 30 community members, all these ideas were crafted together to create a beautiful piece of artwork that everyone who visits the library can enjoy for years to come! Special thanks go to Amy Krane from the Friends of the Library, who was the instigator of this project. And, Cindy Fisher, a talented artist with the vision and drive to see this pursuit through from beginning to end.
